Using an $80 million salary cap, manage your own 25-man roster full of stars from 1885-2001. Want a lineup loaded with bats? Draft Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle and Sammy Sosa into your starting outfield. Looking for a staff full of aces? Picture a starting rotation of Cy Young, Pedro Martinez, Sandy Koufax and Randy Johnson.

You are responsible for managing your club through a 162-game schedule against 23 other teams, either in a private league with your friends or in a public league. Your team will play three games per day and you can follow the results through updated boxscores, league standings, and league leaders immediately after games have been simulated.

  • Draft: Select any 25 players (15 hitters, 10 pitchers) from any season going back to 1885, while staying under your $80 million salary cap.
  • Manage:Set pitching rotations, batting order, basepath agressiveness, use of your bullpen and more!
  • League Play: 24-team leagues, six divisions and 162 games. Each division winner (and 1 wildcard team) qualifies for postseason play.
  • Matchups: Square off in daily three-game, head-to-head series against the rest of your league.

  • WhatIfSports.com has a feature which allows you to be the world's richest GM and build the ultimate dream team. Put Kobe, Michael, Shaq and Wilt on the same team - or - put Griffey, Sosa, and Bonds in the same outfield! You're in charge. Then, when you play your team against another user's dream team, we keep track of the wins and losses. See if you can become the King of the Hill.
  • As you find teams to simulate, you can save them as a 'favorite' so you won't have to search for them again. When you find the team just click 'Add to Favorites'. Then to access your favorite teams, just click on My Account.
  • So you want to save that 17 inning game or double-overtime classic? No, problem! At the top and bottom of each boxscore is an option to 'Save Game'. You can then click on My Account and then Saved Games to view the boxscore at any time.
  • Have a really obnoxious friend who thinks his team is the greatest? Feel free to email him boxscores of your team beating his team. From any boxscore, just select 'Email boxscore'. You can also save your buddies so you won't have to enter their email addresses every time.
